A day in the life of…
Naomie Pitts is the Little Sports Coaching Holiday Course co-ordinator and no two weeks are the same for her in the role.
Each school holiday period, LSC deliver holiday courses at six venues across the North-West for young people aged 5 to 12 years old. Participants can join in with football, dance, gymnastics and multi-sports courses at each of the venues. With the Easter holiday period now complete, Naomie is hard at work planning for a special Polling Day course and the Whit Courses in May and June.
“The day to day running of the holiday courses is really enjoyable and a challenge that I relish. With such a diverse range of venues, no two centres are the same. During the course of the week, our coaches work really hard in order to develop positive relationships with the children and engage them in the activities by making them fun, structured and interesting.”
As well as the core course, Little Sports Coaching also offers full wrap around care, including early drop offs and late pick ups.
“Once a course finishes, with the final wave off of the very last child, the whole process starts again on the following Monday morning when we sit down to review the courses so that we can improve the experience for the next holiday period. Here at Little Sports Coaching we work hard as a team to ensure that everything is well planned, organised and delivered to our participants. We are striving to create the best environment for the children that attend.”
Qualified Little Sports Coaching staff deliver football, multi-sport, dance and gymnastics sessions which are relevant and age appropriate.
“There is a lot of hard work that goes into the holiday courses which the public do not see. We spend a lot of time marketing, promoting and advertising the courses, working with venues, and training our staff so that they’re delivery is first class. The end results are worth all of the effort. There is nothing better than coaching 60 happy, smiling children each week during the holiday courses.”
